Governor Tasso and Yuumi Shida (of idol group Yumemiru Adolescence, native of Ichinoseki, Iwate) were welcomed as guests; with over 200 spectators watching as the grand-scale formation ceremony took place.
A 7-person rugby match was held with the Saitama Yurutama Fifteen in accordance with the grand opening event of the Saitama Kumagaya Rugby Ground. As their first match before a large crowd, everyone was nervous, but along with Dai Chan (of Hirono) attempting a 40m solo run, the match made for a spectacle that no one would imagine could be their first time, resulting in the wonderful result of a 5 to 5 draw against the experienced Saitama veterans. The team continues to practice as they aim for their first true victory, so lend them your support!
The team's uniforms were all made by volunteers throughout Iwate!
